Rejoicing in County Mayo
There has been great rejoicing among our Marist Sisters as County Mayo claimed its first All-Ireland Senior Football Championship title in 75 years!

Sisters Breege Brennan and Elsie Gilmartin have been celebrating the historic victory, along with many of our Sisters who come from the west of Ireland. The joy in County Mayo has been extraordinary!
The win also marks the end of the famous “Mayo curse”—a piece of Irish sporting folklore that claimed Mayo would not win another All-Ireland title until every member of the victorious 1951 team had died. Whether legend or not, after 75 long years, Mayo are champions once again!
