A Celebration of Welcome and Solidarity

Caritas PARI celebrates the World Day of Migrants and Refugees with prayer, sharing and hope.

On Sunday, 27 September 2026, Caritas PARI (Reception Centre for Refugees and Immigrants) celebrated the World Day of Migrants and Refugees at Keur Massar Church.

This year’s theme, proposed by Pope Leo XIV, was “Even One” – Welcoming Migrant and Refugee Children.

The programme was organised in two parts.

Morning: Eucharistic Celebration

The day began with a Thanksgiving Mass at 11 am, attended by 40 migrants and refugees. It was a special moment of prayer, communion and fellowship.

Afternoon: Fellowship and Solidarity

The afternoon activities included singing and entertainment with the migrants, the distribution of school kits to migrant children and food hampers, and the sharing of a joyful meal together.

The celebration was a beautiful expression of welcome, solidarity and hope for migrants and refugees.

Caritas PARI expressed its gratitude to all the benefactors, volunteers and the parish of Keur Massar for their generous support.
