Meeting with Australian Ambassador to the Holy See

While in Rome for General Administration meetings, Sr Noelene Simmons took the opportunity to visit His Excellency the Hon Keith Pitt, Australian Ambassador to the Holy See, on behalf of ACRATH.  During the visit she shared with him ACRATH’s concerns around labour exploitation of migrant workers in rural areas of Australia and the need for a National Compensation scheme for victim/survivors of modern slavery. 

Keith Pitt is a former member of the Australia Parliament. Some years ago, while participating in an ACRATH advocacy visit to Parliament House, Sr Noelene had met Keith in his role as the Member for Bundaberg while advocating for a group of workers who had been exploited while working on Queensland farms.
