Welcoming Fr. Miguel

The Holy Father Pope Leo XIV has recently appointed a Marist Father, Miguel Ángel Contreras Llajaruna as Auxiliary Bishop of Callao, Peru, assigning him the titular see of Babra. Currently the District Superior of South America, Fr. Miguel is 45 years old and began his Marist formation at the seminary in Sullana, Peru. He was ordained in 2008 and has ministered as a parish priest and in education. In 2021, he was appointed Episcopal Vicar for Consecrated Life in the Diocese of Callao.

Our Sisters in Davao had the pleasure of welcoming Fr. Miguel to their community during his recent visit to the Philippines. Fr Miguel was the first bishop appointed by Pope Leo XIV.
