Remembering Fourvière and Celebrating 130 years of Marist Living!
Jubilee Celebrations at Villa Maria Community, Hythe
On 23rd July, Fourvière Day, the Villa Maria Community, joyfully welcomed our sisters from communities across the Unit of England for the celebration of Sr. Sheila Kenny’s Platinum and Sr. Carmel Reynolds’ Diamond Jubilees. To add to our joy, Sr. Maz Clyne, our only other jubilarian of this year joined the celebration!

We also welcomed our manager Tamara Brown and Linda Ribband, representing the Saint John of God Hospitaller Services.
A happy and holy day was enjoyed by all. Our parish priest Father Peter Iwuoha CM celebrated the Mass which was the highlight of the day. A delicious lunch followed and after the cutting of the cake and a fine rendition of the Salve Regina, there was ample time to catch up with each other, walk by the sea and to visit the sisters confined to their rooms.
Remembering Fourvière and celebrating two significant milestones in the lives of our jubilarians, led us to pray and to recall that our Marist living today and every day is ‘All for God’s greater glory and to the honour of Mary, the mother of our Lord, Jesus Christ.” (The Fourvière Pledge, 23rd July 1816)
