A Century of Faith
“In honour of 100 years of faith, community and service”
Several Sisters joined the Saint Mary’s parish of Mount Albert in celebrating its centennial anniversary on the 26th and the 27th of October 2024. The parish held various activities to mark this historic occasion, and these were well attended and enjoyed by all.
Sister Lorraine gave a very clear and engaging presentation during the “High Tea” event on the history of the parish since the arrival of the Marist Sisters in 1927. It was wonderful to see several Marist priests celebrate the Eucharist with us, because they served St Mary’s Parish as parish priests from 1924 to 1989 which is 65 years of loving service.
The Marist Sisters started both the Parish School (Marist Primary) and the Marist College School. From 1927 the Marist Sisters have continued their presence in the parish.
