A Blessed Start to 2026

We began 2026 with celebration and reflection, as we journey into the 200th anniversary of the first Marist Sisters’ profession.

January 1st marks not only the beginning of a new year but also the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God—a fitting day to welcome 2026, a year of special significance for our congregation. This year, we joyfully celebrate the 200th anniversary of the first profession of Jeanne Marie Chavoin, Foundress of the Marist Sisters, and her companions, which took place on 6 September 1826 in Belley.

Our Marist Pilgrims, Srs Kalala and Seini, were blessed to celebrate this beautiful feast with the community in Bon Repos. It was a privilege for them to be in the land of our beginnings, to meet our French Sisters, and to share in this historic and joyful occasion in Belley.
