“Our Mission of Protection: A Journey of Hope and Compassion,”.

As safeguarding officer of Balay Pasilungan, Sr. Sheila Manalo sm attended the First Safeguarding Conference, together with Fr. Gil, sm, Executive Director of BAPAS, last Oct. 21 – 23, 2025 in Clark, Pampanga with the theme: “Our Mission of Protection: A Journey of Hope and Compassion,”.

It was attended by more than 300 delegates, including bishops, clergy, religious leaders, and lay professionals from across the country and neighboring Southeast Asian nations.

Sr. Sheila writes

“We had such a wonderful experience over three exciting days! We listened to inspiring keynote speakers and teamed up with participants in the Safeguarding conference. It was a an opportunity to come together and work towards enhancing the Catholic Church’s response in the Philippines to prevent and protect minors and vulnerable adults from any kind of abuse. The journey to deepen our commitment and expand our response was truly rewarding.
