Marist Justice Gathering
The Marist Family Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation Committee hosted an afternoon of reflection, listening, and shared conversation on the Australian Bishops’ Social Justice Statement, “The Cost of Our Living: Economic and Social Justice for the Common Good.” Seven Marist Sisters were among members of the Marist Family who gathered in Hunters Hill in mid-May.

Guest speakers Claire Thomas, Director of Identity and Ethos for Jesuit Social Services, and Angie Argent from St Francis Social Services, shared insights into their work. They spoke about how their organisations respond to economic and social justice issues through both practical support and advocacy.
Participants reflected on the challenges facing society today, the call of the Gospel in responding to injustice, and how, as a Marist community, they are invited to act with compassion, solidarity, and hope.
