Jubilee Reflections
On 7 March 2025, Sr Marie-Thérèse Terra celebrated her jubilee at Bon Repos.
She reflects:
My elder brother wrote that morning, “May the diamonds of your jubilee shine brightly!” While I had hoped for a simple celebration in the ordinary rhythm of life, both of us were right.
The Bon Repos community, joined by Teri and Mari Aranda, organized a wonderful celebration with flowers, souvenir photos decorating the chapel and dining room, and a festive meal accompanied by Cerdon wine. At the heart of our day was Mass, celebrated with Father Marliangas, OP. He reflected on the story of Cana, noting the servants’ scepticism as they poured water into the jars, reminding us to welcome the unexpected—something that became real when Mass was delayed by a tragic event earlier in the day. Celebration and sorrow intertwined, as they often do in life.
This jubilee was also a moment to remember all the Marist Sisters with whom I have journeyed, recalling happy times and acknowledging regrets. For all of this, I say THANK YOU—again and again—as I continue the journey with confidence.
