Finding My True Home

“A joyful response to finding my true home and a profound way to hold fast to the Beloved.”

It was a wonderful experience and opportunity to enter into a space of joyful commitment, completely surrounded by the love of my family, friends, and loved ones. Taking these three vows was my joyful response to finding my true home, and a profound way to hold fast to the Beloved.

During the ceremony, kneeling down while holding a lit candle brought me back to the very beginning of my spiritual journey. It reminded me of my first engagement in the Church as a child of God — my Baptism. In that sacred moment, I was able to confirm the words of the Song of Songs: “I have found him whom my soul loves.” I have done this by surrendering myself totally to Him, just as our Good Mother Mary teaches us to do.

This profession is also a significant step toward living the Marist values in my daily life. My desire is to be deeply penetrated by the Marist spirit and to breathe it into my mission, renouncing myself to concern myself entirely with the interests of the One whom I have found.

Looking ahead, I intend to make this journey in great inner peace. I am striving to keep my heart empty and ready — ready to listen and always say “yes” without needing to understand everything, imitating Mary’s trust from the very moment of her first Fiat.

On Sunday, the sisters and fathers accompanied me to visit my family, beautifully blending my spiritual community with the family who has loved and supported me from the very start. My heart is full of gratitude for this beautiful beginning.
