Remembrance Day originated after the First World War and is celebrated throughout the United Kingdom. Every year it is marked with services, a minute’s silence at 11 o’clock on 11 November and the wearing of poppies.
In preparation for Remembrance Day, our Sisters in the Villa Maria community created this poster: “True Remembrance lies in the actions we take to prevent all future wars”. The sisters also joined in prayer for a just and lasting peace among all nations.
Sister Beate Heutger of the Walsingham community held a Service of Remembrance at the care home where she works in Fakenham.
