The General Chapter held in Nemi, Italy in April –May 2022 has set the direction for the next seven years. (2022-2029) The theme for the Chapter was “Crossing Thresholds – Bearers of Hope.

Spirit of God, Breath of Life, present at the beginning of Creation and at the birth of the Church, unify and energise us – sisters together with Mary – as we ask:

‘What thresholds must we cross so as to become her heart and voice and face, Bearers of Hope, in our hurting world?’

CROSSING THRESHOLDS, BEARERS OF HOPE
Creator God, Source of all life and hope,
with your entire creation we give thanks
for Life and for all its gifts.
Together, we continue to walk the Chapter journey, 
and once more we entrust ourselves
to Your love and guidance.
As we pray and wait upon Your Word,
help us to discern the Spirit’s movement,
leading us daily on different paths.
Open our hearts to the desires
You have for us, in the firm hope
that You give us the courage
and confidence to follow Your ways.
(Isaiah 42:16)
Pour out Your Spirit upon us,
enabling us to be attentive
to the questions arising within us,
revealing uncrossed thresholds
in our lives and ministries.
As heirs of the Marist charism,
we stand with Mary at this new threshold.
In the spirit of Jeanne-Marie Chavoin,
we lay ourselves and all we have
at Your service for the life of our world.
Transform us and send us forth as Bearers of Hope. Amen.
