International Women's Day - March 8

  8th March - International Women's Day

This is a challenging moment for Marist Sisters. While we recognise the anomalies that exist in our world and in our Church regarding the role of women, we are called to respond as Mary would if she were present here and now. That's not an easy call - either to imagine such a response or to implement it. Much depends on how we see Mary. Clearly, we must ponder as Mary did, before we can act as she did - in Cana and at the foot of the Cross. And what was her role at Pentecost and afterwards in the home of John? Can we be women who speak the truth in love? Can we become the agents of change by setting the scene for deep listening, so that we and others around us will "do whatever he tells us..." ?
