A Confident Step in the Hands of the Potter
Enriette begins her novitiate..
“September 2 will forever remain engraved in my heart as the day I crossed the threshold of the Ker Chavoin Novitiate House. That day, I was welcomed with immense warmth—almost like a princess—by the entire community. The fraternal reception I received deeply touched me and immediately gave me a sense of confidence and peace.
In the first days of my arrival, I was blessed to experience a four-day spiritual retreat, guided by my novice mistress. This was a sacred time of silence, prayer, and deep reflection. The meditations and shared moments helped me to refocus on what truly matters and to prepare myself inwardly for this new chapter of life.
To symbolize these two years of novitiate, I chose the image of clay in the hands of the potter. This symbol expresses my desire to be shaped by the Lord, just as clay is molded under the gentle hands of a potter. I come before Him just as I am—with my strengths and my limitations—trusting that He will transform me according to His will.
“My deepest wish is to become, through this time of formation, a fulfilled novice, filled with joy and love—for His greater glory.”
On September 12, the Feast of the Holy Name of Mary, I was officially welcomed as a Marist novice in the Ker Chavoin community. This deeply meaningful day was marked by a beautiful celebration, attended by members from both communities. A particularly emotional moment for me was the receiving of the cross and the Constitutions of the Congregation—two powerful symbols of my commitment and desire to follow Christ in the spirit of Mary, within the Marist family.
Later that evening, we went to the Chapel of the Holy Name of Mary in YARAKH to celebrate this Marian feast together in prayer and thanksgiving.
What profound joy I felt sharing this moment with the sisters from our united communities!”
