Reaching out in pandemic time in Dakar

Since the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic, Caritas, through its PARI sector, a reception desk for refugees and Immigrants - for which Sister Joséphine Guèye is in charge - has been assisting refugees who are a very vulnerable group.

As a social worker, ministering in PARI, Sister Joséphine is responsible for identifying the most vulnerable families, while being aware that not all families can be satisfied.

She distributes food kits consisting of rice, sugar, oil, milk and pasta and hygiene kits consisting of soap, bleach and detergents.

Every day, she receives phone calls from families asking for help because some refugee families lack the basic necessities.

Faced with this situation, Joséphine listens, discerns and acts according to the possibilities inspired by Mary, the mother of mercy.

May God bless your efforts and may Mary  keep you safe and well, dear Joséphine.
