6th September 1816
It is 190 years since the first Marist Sisters professed their Vows in the little chapel at Bon Repos in Belley, France. There were nine of them - Sisters St Joseph (Jeanne-Marie Chavoin), Marie Jotillon, Marie de Jésus Gardet, Jean Baptiste Chavoin, Jean Rougement, Jacques Pellin, Elizabeth Rougement, Pierre Debrueil and Paul Béraud.
May they accompany us today as we strive to live the Gospel after the manner of Mary.
