Marist Sisters in Difficult Times

Since mid-March this year, it has become clear
that our world is in the grip of a pandemic, known as Coronavirus COVID-19.
Our Sisters across the Congregation are striving to live this moment in our history
as our founding women and men envisaged - by thinking, judging, feeling and acting as Mary.

We intend to record here some concrete examples from each of our country groups.

Part 1 - France

GARDENING is a wonderful activity in such times. Bon Repos in Belley is being well looked after. We see above a great example to us in Christiane! Certainly Jeanne-Marie would be proud of her!

No matter their age and stage, our Sisters in France engage in life to the full. In the Belley nursing home Sr François-Marie (two photos below) takes part in games and takes on some house-keeping tasks, while Sr Marie Emmanuel (far left in lower photo) takes her turn at bowls.

God bless our Sisters who have spent their earlier lives far from home as missionaries
and now continue that mission by contributing to the joy of those around them.
Blessings too on the lay staff who provide such loving care.

Further below, our community in a deserted Rue Sala in Lyons participates in Mass on-line.
