Our Lady of Guadalupe
“Who am I that the Mother of my Lord should visit me?”
As we know, December 12 is a major celebration for the Mexican people, honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe. The festivities, however, begin 46 days earlier, when a small image of Guadalupe, accompanied by a group of people, visits 46 homes.
For each family, it is a great honor to host this sacred visitor for 24 hours, before she moves on to the next home. During each visit, a rosary is prayed, accompanied by songs, and the gathering concludes with a shared meal and fellowship.
Recently, the Mirador community was blessed to host the Statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe for 24 hours.
