The International Marist Youth Gathering has begun well!
Sr Anne McCabe reports:
The official opening, true to the theme “Weaving Life”, was a wonderful weaving of prayer, presentations, Eucharist, community time, fun, games, music, dancing and fireworks, as well as a wonderful meal. We were welcomed warmly by the Provincial of the Marist Brothers in Guatemala.
Each of the four themes have been introduced .... launched even..... by a group of super heroes - Community, Interiority, Solidarity and Mission.
Everywhere is beautiful, the people who work here are so friendly and kind and the young people so responsive. The chapel is filled for the early morning voluntary Mass and today concluded with a review of the day shared by each participant in the peaceful, reflective atmosphere of the lovely chapel.
Day one is now over..... and tomorrow brings the theme of Community, led by Brothers Ernesto and Mark.
May the Spirit continue to weave within and among you!
