Assembly of Leaders of Religious Institutes in the Philippines (AMRSWP)

In Cagayan de Oro City from 9-13 July, 88 Religious Sisters from 77 Congregations participated in the Annual convention. This year's theme was: The need for Servant Leaders in the Philippine Church.

Sheila Manalo, leader of the Marist Sisters in the Philipines, was very enthusiastic about the event. Highlights included:

hearing Fr Chito Sagunob share his call to serve as God's priest in Marawi and his ordeal during the Marawi Seige,
an address by Sister of Sion Patricia Fox, who has been supported by AMRSWP throughout the recent immigration concerns,
an immersion experience on 12th July Women's Solidarity Visit to Marawi City -.this provided an opportunity for a beautiful gathering called: Christian-Muslim Women for Peace: A Loving Conversation - the organizers recommended the wearing of "malong" and "Kombong" as a gesture of solidarity.
