Celebrations for the Holy Name of Mary

The Feast of the Holy Name of Mary, celebrated on the 12th September each year, has a special significance for Marist Sisters as we remember the gift and responsibility we have in being called to live the Gospel as Mary and to bear her name. 

 
 
 
In Australia, Marist Sisters from the communities of Merrylands, Marrickville and Marsfield in Sydney met on 11 September to anticipate the feast of the Holy Name of Mary.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
In New Zealand, the Mt Albert community met to pray and renew their vows and then a delicious meal was prepared.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
In France, members of all the Marist 
branches celebrated at the Marist Fathers in Sainte Foy les Lyon. A group of young blind people were also invited by the Superior, former national chaplain for the blind.
 
 
 
 
 
 

 
 
 
 
In the Via Aurelia, the General House Community hosted a celebration for all the branches of the Marist Family in Rome.  After Mass, they continued to celebrate over a meal.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
In the Philippines, the Davao community celebrated with the Marist Fathers and those in the shelters they run for 'street children'.
