Sr Huguette was delighted that she was able to attend the Episcopal Consecration of Yvan Mathieu sm. 

She writes:

For the first time in Canadian Marist history, a Marist Father was consecrated Bishop.  It was very touching to participate with so many people in the majestic Notre-Dame Cathedral, among whom were 12 Marist Fathers and an sm Brother. We are all so proud of our young brother Yvan, 61, now Auxiliary Bishop of Ottawa-Cornwal, Ontario.

 

The papal letter at the beginning of the mass underlined his precious talents and the courage he brings to the Church by his generous YES. The motto he chose is Do Not Be Afraid Luke 5:10 and a card with a Pentecostal scene. Some of you may remember Yvan and his joyful presence at some of our gatherings in Europe when he was a Biblical student in Rome.
