Life Lessons

In the quiet flow of daily life, God’s grace often reveals itself through unexpected encounters.

Marie-Thérèse Terra writes …

Having become dependent due to brain and vision problems, Sister Marie Mulpas moved into a nursing home in Lyon, near Rue Sala, where I now find myself living alone. Our community now has two places of residence.

I am delighted to see that what we can no longer do ourselves for the well-being of our sisters, young people are doing with great enthusiasm. For example, two business school students spent eight months visiting Sister Marie as part of their academic programme.

Here are a few excerpts from Shamanthy’s reflection:

“At first, I wanted to help bring attention back to those who are forgotten. This motivation was enriched by the very strong bonds I formed with Sister Marie. I saw real changes in her speech and self-confidence.

This commitment had such a profound effect on me that I want to continue along this path. I realised that a small, regular gesture can truly change a person’s daily life. I encouraged several of my friends and family members to do the same — to give an hour of their time to visit an isolated elderly person.

I am convinced that these simple commitments can have a domino effect in society.

Sister Marie, I wish you the very best. You are an exceptional person with a big heart. Thank you for all the moments we shared, for your smiles, and for your life lessons. You are a true example for us. We will never forget you.”
